Meet Us Monday: The Schultz Family

We are continuing our Meet Us Monday Blog series - now re-introducing two former ILS teachers who are now pursuing studies at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This year’s Chapel Offerings are supporting the Schultz and Barnett families.

Today, we are introducing you to Mr. Aaron Schultz, his wife, Katie, and their four boys, Canon, Ben, Sam, and Gus. Mr. Schultz was the Upper School Math, Science, and PE teacher, as well as the ILS Athletic Director from 2013-2018. The Schultz’s oldest son Canon attended Jr. Kindergarten at ILS in 2016-2017 and Kindergarten in 2017-2018. Mr. Schultz in in his final year of studies at the Seminary.

1. What is a favorite ILS memory?

We loved ILS family events, especially the Chili Cook-off! Aaron loved National Lutheran Schools week and all the events that took place.

2. What was a highlight of your summer?

Aaron coached Canon (8) and Ben (6) in their first Fort Wayne Little League team and took them to the playoffs!

3. What lead you to pursue studies at Seminary?

It had always been in the back of Aaron's mind, but in early 2017 the desire grew stronger and Pastor Esget helped him sort out the right next steps.

4. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming year?

Call Night in April!

But really, making the most of the friendships we've made here in Fort Wayne and soaking in each "last" event on campus and at our church.

5. How can the ILS community pray for you and your family?

Aaron will receive his Call in April and graduate in May. Please pray for peace in the lead-up to those two events.
