Meet Us Monday: Mrs. Kathryn Friddle

We are counting down to the start of the 2023-2024 school year, which means it is time to bring back our Meet Us Monday blog series to introduce you to the outstanding new and returning teachers and staff who will be working alongside you and your children each day this year.

As a parent to two recent ILS graduates, as well as two current ILS students, Mrs. Kathryn Friddle has been a part of the Immanuel community for many years. She now joins the staff serving as Interim Assistant Headmaster.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Friddle to her new role at ILS!

  1. What is your position at ILS?

    Interim Assistant Headmaster

  2. What are you most looking forward to about working at ILS?
The people! I'm looking forward to working side by side with the teachers, faculty, and staff in serving the children and families that the Lord draws to Immanuel this year.

  3. What book are you currently reading?
I just checked G.K. Chesterton’s Father Brown The Essential Tales out from the library.

  4. What was a favorite thing you did this summer?
Our family vacationed in Washington and Oregon and completed our tour of the Lower 48.

  5. What is one place you would like to visit but have not yet been?
    Greece

  6. Who was a teacher who inspired you?
In fifth grade, Mrs. Cathy taught me American History, and I loved it (and her).  Mrs. Cathy placed high expectations on her students. Her class required more of me than merely acquiring knowledge of the subject, but it required me to think, speak and write about it as well.

  7. What was your favorite book as a child?
My aunt introduced me to Nancy Drew, and I was hooked. The entire original series is just the best, but my very favorite was #17 The Mystery of the Brass Bound Trunk.

  8. What is your favorite scripture verse?
Hard to choose a favorite, but one that is on my mind today is:

But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.” Matthew 22:29
