Meet Us Monday: Mrs. Crissy Stubbs

We are counting down to the start of the 2023-2024 school year, which means it is time to bring back our Meet Us Monday blog series to introduce you to the outstanding new and returning teachers and staff who will be working alongside you and your children each day this year.

We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Crissy Stubbs to the ILS faculty as our 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Stubbs has been a part of our Immanuel community for many years as a parent, and she
previously taught first grade at Fayetteville Christian School in North Carolina.

Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Stubbs to her new role at ILS!

  1. What is your position at ILS?

    1st Grade Teacher

  2. What are you most looking forward to about working at ILS?
    I have two! My greatest joy as a teacher is seeing the students' faces light up when a new concept is mastered, and I cannot wait to be a part of their learning. Also, not just being a part of this special community as a parent and volunteer, but now working alongside such talented people daily!

  3. What book are you currently reading?
    “Running with Sherman” by Christopher McDougall

  4. What was a favorite thing you did this summer?
    Our family took a road trip along the East Coast, stopping in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine. It was special to have this time together as a family and explore the history, beauty and vibrant cities of New England.

  5. What is one place you would like to visit but have not yet been?
    I love to travel! We’re planning our next adventure to the Rockies to explore Montana and Wyoming, including some river rafting next summer. Also high up on my list in Europe are Germany and Ireland!

  6. What was your favorite subject/class when you were in school? Who was a teacher who inspired you?
    Art and English. My art teacher in high school, Mrs. Anderson, was encouraging of my talent yet challenged my skills so I could grow. She demonstrated to me as an accomplished artist, the many forms of art to try and to not limit my efforts to a particular few.

  7. What was your favorite book as a child?
    ”The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett

  8. What is your favorite scripture verse?
    Psalm 62:5-8:

    For God alone my soul waits in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
    He alone is my rock and salvation,
    My fortress. I shall not be shaken.
    On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
    My mighty rock, my refuge is in God.
    Trust in him at all times, O people;
    Pour out your heart before him.
    God is a refuge for us.
