  • Louise Gebel
    A journalist by training, after college graduation Louise found herself traveling around the Americas - installing software systems for TV newsrooms and becoming way more of a computer geek than she ever expected. These days Louise runs East Coast business development for a company that designs and deploys the technology behind media & entertainment experiences. Immanuel Lutheran Church has been an anchor of Louise's domestic life as a displaced Midwesterner inside the Beltway for almost a decade. As a Lutheran pastor's daughter and a product of Lutheran elementary education, Louise is enthused to be serving her first term on the School Board.  
  • Jordan Gehrke, Chair
    Jordan Gehrke is a partner in Vertical Strategies. He has spent the better part of the last decade finding solutions to technology problems for political campaigns. Most recently, he served as Senior Advisor to Sen. Ben Sasse's campaign in Nebraska. He has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2002. He credits parents who taught him the value of classical education and the western canon as a big part of why he is so passionate about the mission of ILS.

  • Stephanie Hammond
    Stephanie Hammond serves as the World Vision humanitarian policy advisor for global conflicts and natural disasters. In this role, Stephanie focuses on the global refugee crisis and humanitarian emergencies and response. Stephanie previously was a foreign policy advisor in the U.S. Congress for over five years and focused on human rights, religious persecution, global health, and refugee issues.  While on Capitol Hill, Stephanie also served as the staff director for the International Religious Freedom Caucus. Stephanie is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and is serving in her first term on the School Board.
  • Mark W. Hemingway
    Mark Hemingway is a Senior Writer for The Weekly Standard. Previously, Mark worked as columnist and editorial writer for The Washington Examiner and as a staff writer at National Review. He has also worked at USA Today and Market News International. He was awarded a 2002 Phillips Foundation Fellowship, studied poverty and economics in Southeast Asia as Global Prosperity Initiative fellow with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and was a 2014 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute. He is originally from Bend, Oregon, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in journalism. He is married to Mollie Ziegler Hemingway and has two children at Immanuel Lutheran School.
  • Scott Hotaling
    Scott Hotaling is serving in his first year on the School Board. He is the Director of Security and Risk for Risk Mitigation Consulting, Inc. He is originally from Sauquoit, New York, and graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego with a B.A. in Public Justice and Forensic Science. He and his wife Alina are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church and have two children at Immanuel Lutheran School. He is passionate about ILS’s mission and the classical, Christian education model.
