Immanuel Lutheran School Board Members

  • P. Jeanne Brown
    Jeanne Brown serves as a member and past Chair of the School Board. She is the Director of Marketing, Business Development & Client Relations for Williams & Connolly LLP, one of the nation's premier litigation firms. Jeanne earned her B.A. from Rollins College. She and her husband Dan are native Alexandrians, have a son who graduated in 2015 from Immanuel, and are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
  • Priscilla Mensing Cook
    Priscilla Cook is a long serving School Board member, teacher emeritus of Immanuel, and daughter of Rev. Willner Mensing, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church when the parish school was reestablished in 1945. She received a B.S. in Education from Concordia Teachers' College-River Forest. She and her late husband, Carl, have 3 grown children who attended Immanuel Lutheran School. You can find Priscilla in the ILS driveway every Wednesday greeting the parents and helping the students out of cars and safely across the driveway.

  • Jordan Gehrke, Chair
    Jordan Gehrke is a partner in Vertical Strategies. He has spent the better part of the last decade finding solutions to technology problems for political campaigns. Most recently, he served as Senior Advisor to Sen. Ben Sasse's campaign in Nebraska. He has been a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church since 2002. He credits parents who taught him the value of classical education and the western canon as a big part of why he is so passionate about the mission of ILS.

  • Mark W. Hemingway
    Mark Hemingway is a Senior Writer for The Weekly Standard. Previously, Mark worked as columnist and editorial writer for The Washington Examiner and as a staff writer at National Review. He has also worked at USA Today and Market News International. He was awarded a 2002 Phillips Foundation Fellowship, studied poverty and economics in Southeast Asia as Global Prosperity Initiative fellow with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and was a 2014 Lincoln Fellow at the Claremont Institute. He is originally from Bend, Oregon, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in journalism. He is married to Mollie Ziegler Hemingway and has two children at Immanuel Lutheran School.
  • Chris Mulder
    Chris Mulder is a Lt Col in the United States Air Force, currently serving on the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.  He is an F-16 pilot with extensive flying experience around the world, including Europe, Korea, and the Middle East.  Chris has been an executive officer and aide-de-camp to senior military officers, traveling to over 36 countries.  He received a B.S. in management from the Air Force Academy and holds an MBA.  His volunteer work has included President, Protestant Parish Council and initiating a Men’s Christian ministry.  Chris attended middle school at Immanuel Lutheran in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  He and his wife Jen have three children, the two oldest of whom attend Immanuel Lutheran School.   
  • Luke Preus
    Luke Preus is currently serving in his first year on the School Board. He has a B.A. in Economics from Hillsdale College, and works in Finance and Human Resources. He and his wife Rachel and son Elijah live in Alexandria and are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
