A Kentucky native, Ruth (Kloha) Stone graduated from Transylvania University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and minors in economics and music. As the daughter of a Lutheran pastor, Mrs. Stone has been intimately involved in her church congregations and with LCMS World Mission since she was a youth. She enjoys using her musical gifts (both in violin and mountain dulcimer) to teach and play for church, weddings, and with friends.
Prior to joining the Immanuel Lutheran School community, Mrs. Stone taught English as a Fulbright Scholar in Malaysia. Through this experience she was able to coach students in a social entrepreneurship camp, organize language-learning focused extracurricular activities, and travel throughout 8 countries in South East Asia. With her love for culture, education and the Lutheran church, Mrs. Stone is enthusiastic about serving at Immanuel Lutheran School and sharing in its mission of cultivating a rich classical Christian environment for its students. She and her husband, Lyman, live in Washington, DC, and are members of Immanuel Church.
