A Grand Rapids, Michigan native, Karen Gorr graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a Bachelor of Arts in Russian and Spanish, and from American University, with a Master of Arts in Teaching English as a Second Language.  In 2002, her love for languages led her to St. Petersburg, Russia, where she participated in a study abroad program. For several years after that, Mrs. Gorr taught English as a Second Language in the D.C. area, as well as acquired experience working with children with special needs. She also received her Education Specialist Degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia.

Mrs. Gorr is Immanuel’s Called first grade teacher. She especially enjoys teaching reading, and helping students learn about God’s love for them. Mrs. Gorr and her husband, Eric are parents to Elizabeth Rose.
