Immanuel Evangelical-Lutheran Church (a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod) is named after the Lord Jesus Christ: Immanuel—Hebrew for “God with us”—is the Old Testament prophetic name for the Savior (see Is. 7:14 and Mt.1:23). Since 1870 Immanuel has been a beacon of Light and Truth to Alexandria and the greater Washington, D.C. area. Please visit our church website to learn more about us. We encourage you to come hear the Word of God and pray with us. We are an imperfect group of sinners gathered around our shared confession of Christ and His Gospel. We are formed and shaped by the Holy Scriptures and worship according to the historic liturgy of the Church. By God’s grace, we will continue faithfully in His Word until the final Advent of our Immanuel. We hope you will come and visit us in person soon!
